Bídoma Alert for Microsoft® PerformancePoint® is now Open Source under Microsoft Public License (MS-PL)!
Bidoma Alert is a productivity add-on for Microsoft® PerformancePoint®. Bidoma Alert supports Microsoft PerformancePoint Server 2007 and PerformancePoint Services 2010.
Customers are able to add extensive e-mail alerting capabilities to existing or new Microsoft PerformancePoint installations.
Users can individually define their alerts and conditions to get automatically informed when a key performance indicator (KPI) changes – without needing to view their scorecards and dashboards. Alerts can be setup and delivered in 6 different languages
with support for 36 additional languages possible.IT departments can quickly deploy Bidoma Alert to existing portals and dynamically add new portals in real time.

History
Version 1.2 Feature Improvements
- Dynamic dimension security is a common scenario in enterprise environments where a users credentials determine the data returned. This feature supports both PerformancePoint scenarios using per-user identity or passing the user name as value of “CustomData”
within the connection string property.
- Creating alerts on multiple dimensions or KPI’s can be accomplished in a single step.
- Bidoma Alert minor bug fixes, server engine improvements, and setup improvements.

Alert Creation & Management
It’s easy to set up and manage Bidoma Alert according to your business needs.
- Create and define alerts from within a scorecard in the Internet browser
- Defined alerts for selected key performance indicators (KPIs) and any of their measures (actual, target, score, and more)
- Get notified when KPI data changes or when a user-defined threshold is satisfied
- Prevent getting outdated alerts with the automatic alert expiration option, and extend expiration dates as necessary
- Include additional recipients, and allow scorecard managers to define rules to allow or restrict additional recipients by end users
- Support global audiences with Bidoma Alert e-mail content that can automatically detect the alert owner’s local language and can be customized to local languages and formats through templates created by administrators
- Bidoma Alert supports any e-mail client by using HTML format and integrates with all Microsoft Office SharePoint supported Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari)
Alert Integrated Scorecard Views
Find what you need using the Bidoma Alert scorecard integrated functionality.
- On larger dashboards, you can choose the Bidoma Alert Report’s expanded view, or focus only on relevant information with the fully-functional collapsed view of the dashboard.
- You can use the Bidoma Alert Report to view varied information. When you open the scorecard page, you will see all alerts for the scorecard; when you select a specific KPI, only alerts for that KPI will be displayed.
- Without leaving the dashboard, you can access and view the alert history within the
Bidoma Alert Report.
Language Support
Bidoma Alert automatically detects users language settings.
Bidoma Alert will display the user interface and send alerts in the supported languages.

Administration and Configuration
Configure Bidoma Alert using an administration console called Bidoma Alert Management Studio.
Setup and customize e-mail profiles, templates, and accounts for each portal.
Configure sites, web services, host headers, SMTP server account details, and more.
E-mail Templates
Using Bidoma Alert Management Studio and an HTML editor e-mail templates can be customized.
Bidoma Alert e-mail tokens allow full customization of the alert e-mail content.
E-mail Recipient Rules
Define the valid e-mail addresses for optional recipients using regular expressions.
Rules and Options
Set rules for alert expiration options for each portal; to enable expiration, default number of days until an alert expires, or to allow alert owners to modify expiration periods.
Scorecard designers have several options over the Dashboard Designer application. They can set the default view option (expanded/collapsed), enable custom e-mail recipients, and set alert expiration options.
